Erasing and restoring
Don’t you remember your passcode? Can’t you recall it? Are you looking for a technician’s help? Don’t panic. Just erase your device. And then use a backup to put your data and settings back on your device.
There are three recovery modes:
  1. if you've synced your device with iTunes
  2. if you have an iCloud account and have Find My iPhone turned on
  3. if you can't sync or connect with iTunes and don't have an iCloud account.
iTunes
It’s quite easy to restore your device if you've synced your device with iTunes. Follow the given steps:
  • Connect the device to the system you have usually synced with.
  • Try another computer normally you sync with if iTunes asks you to enter your passcode or asks you to allow access. Or use recovery mode.
  • iTunes automatically syncs device and creates a backup. If it doesn't, sync the device with iTunes.
  • After the sync is complete, restore your device.
  • When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup."
  • Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup.
Find My iPhone
Have you enabled ‘Find My iPhone’ through iCloud, if yes, then you can use it to erase your device. Follow the given steps:
  • Long on to icloud.com/find.
  • Note your iCloud apple ID and sign in with it.
  • Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
  • Choose or select the device which you would like to erase.
  • Click "Erase [device]" for erasing your device and passcode.
  • Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup.
It may be that you have not synced your device with iTunes. It may also happen that you have forgotten to set up Find My iPhone. In this situation, put your device in recovery mode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
This will help you remove the device and its passcode. Go through the following steps:
  • Remove all cables from your device.
  • Hold down the Sleep/Wake button
  • Then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Plug the device into your computer.
  • If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
  • Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  • If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
  • Click OK.
  • Restore the device.
  • If unfortunately your device fail to go into recovery mode, you should try steps 1–4 again. Website : https://itmaple.net/
